Luxor Half Marathon Returns After Five-Year Hiatus This October
A portion of the marathon’s proceeds will go towards the Luxor-based Shefa El Orman Hospital.
After a five-year hiatus, the Luxor Half Marathon by local sports organisers Cairo Runners is about to make a comeback. On October 6th, runners from all across Egypt will be able to race for a cause in the historic streets of Luxor, with a portion of the marathon’s proceeds going towards the city’s Shefa El Orman Hospital in order to help serve thousands of children with free medical treatment.
The inclusive event offers a diverse range of routes to cater to participants from different backgrounds and abilities, with options like the 21-kilometre Half Marathon Race, the 10-kilometre Run (with timing system and ranking), and a Family Run, where individuals of all ages and fitness levels can join in.
To ensure a smooth registration process, there are two ticket options available: The Basic Kit, which includes a race number and finisher medal, and The Full Kit, which also provides participants with a race bag and a race t-shirt in addition to the essentials.
Tickets can be purchased until September 25th through Cairo Runners’ official website.
