Ma’an Launches School Renovation Initiative to Support Education

The Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an has launched a major initiative to renovate community schools, ensuring continued access to quality education for students facing financial hardship. The programme targets schools at risk of closure and those requiring urgent facility improvements to meet Abu Dhabi’s education standards.

In 2024, Ma’an spearheaded 51 social service projects, raising a total of AED 98.6 million. Beneficiaries include Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Bangladesh Islamia School and Pakistan Community Welfare School, both of which received critical renovations. To address structural deficiencies in ageing schools, AED 6.5 million was allocated for upgrades, carried out outside school hours to avoid disruption to learning.

Beyond renovations, Ma’an has taken steps to ensure financial stability for struggling students. AED 1 million has been invested in a commercial and residential building, designed to generate long-term funds for financially challenged students at Abu Dhabi University. Additionally, AED 7.5 million has been allocated to support students under the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, covering unpaid tuition fees for those in need.

To showcase the impact of these initiatives, Ma’an will highlight success stories in ‘People of Giving’, a docu-drama series airing this week on Abu Dhabi TV. The programme will feature both benefactors and beneficiaries, demonstrating the role of community-driven contributions in strengthening education access.
