Madinet Masr Launches First Sports-Focused Swiss School in MENA Region
The partnership aims to blend education and sports, creating opportunities for young talents to excel as scholars and athletes.
Want to give your kids a head start in the sports arena? Madinet Masr, a prominent urban community developer in Egypt, has launched Project Kayan, which aims to combine high-quality education, professional sports and a healthy lifestyle to empower young talents in academia and on the field simultaneously. The first of its kind in the MENA region, Project Kayan has been kicked off in partnership with Lemania Swiss International School (LSIS), and Klub Kayan in Taj City, New Cairo.
“The launch of Lemania Swiss International School (LSIS) and Klub Kayan is a testament to our dedication to creating innovative and nurturing environments that empower the youth,” Eng. Abdallah Sallam, President and CEO of Madinet Masr, tells CairoScene. “This new concept, a first in Egypt, is designed to seamlessly integrate top-tier education with premier athletic programs, catering specifically to the aspirations and needs of young individuals.”
This initiative is complemented by Klub Kayan, a sports club that provides mentorship and guidance, fostering the development of students both academically and athletically.
“Lemania Swiss International School will be Eduhive's 7th school in Egypt but with a different approach. It is not just an entire IB school with a 100-year heritage in Lausanne, Switzerland. It is also located in the heart of Kayan Klub,” Mr. Karim Mostafa, CEO of Eduhive, says. “The school addresses a significant and ongoing issue for Egyptian families seeking high-quality education for their children while allowing them to excel in sports and potentially join a national team. Typically, children have to give up one of these pursuits by age 15 due to the pressures of the other. LSIS aims to provide a comprehensive solution to this challenge. LSIS is a ‘one parking spot’ type of solution.”
The establishment of Lemania Swiss International School will cost approximately EGP 350 million, while Klub Kayan will involve an investment of around EGP 2 billion.
