Ministry of Finance Launches Retail Sukuk for Citizens & Residents

The Ministry of Finance has launched Retail Sukuk, a new initiative allowing citizens and residents to invest directly in Shariah-compliant, government-backed Treasury Sukuk (T-Sukuk) for the first time.

The programme opens a traditionally institutional investment avenue to individuals, with subscriptions starting from AED 4,000. The Sukuk will be denominated in UAE dirhams and linked to sovereign assets, offering low-risk, long-term returns.

The bonds will be available through participating banks and digital channels, with the first phase set to begin on November 3rd. Retail Sukuk aims to strengthen financial inclusion and promote a savings culture across the country, in line with the UAE’s broader strategy to expand access to Islamic finance instruments.
