Ministry of Social Solidarity Announces Fundraising Accounts for Gaza
The accounts will direct funds to the Egyptian Red Crescent to help relieve the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The Ministry of Social Solidarity has announced the opening of special bank accounts under the Arab Fund for Social Work, allowing the public to donate money for aid work and relief provided to the people of Gaza. The exceptional sub-accounts, welcoming donation in Egyptian Pounds, American Dollars and Euros, will direct funds specifically to the Egyptian Red Crescent’s work saving Palestinian lives in the besieged Gaza Strip, particularly in Rafah, where over 1.5 million people have relocated since October 7th, 2023.
Thus far, the Egyptian Red Crescent has established six logistical areas alongside nine warehouses, from which stored aid is distributed to those most in need. The organisation has also set up humanitarian kitchens preparing Iftar and Suhoor meals during the holy month of Ramadan. The possibility of widespread famine in Gaza looms large as insufficient humanitarian aid reaches those in dire need of sustenance. Meanwhile, the aerial bombardment of locations throughout the strip continues, even as international aid agencies try to airdrop basic supplies into the area.
