Ministry of Transport to Establish 73 Axes & Bridges on the Nile

The Ministry of Transport is aiming to implement 73 axes and bridges on the Nile by 2030.

The implementation of the bridges aims to reduce the spaces between the axis of the Nile to 25 km, whereas the implementation of the axes aims to connect road networks between the east and west of the Nile aside from the already existing bridges.

The implementation comes from directives under President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in June 2014 to build 35 new axes on the Nile, aside from the 38 that were already implemented before 2014. Since 2014, 18 axes have been implemented.
