Ministry of Water & Inspur Partner on Early Warning Systems for Floods
Chinese tech company Inspur will also present a number of digital services to modernize water facility management in Egypt.
The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation has formed a partnership with Chinese technology company Inspur to enhance water management and establish a flood early warning system across Egypt.
Inspur will also present a number of digital services designed to support the ministry’s efforts to modernize water facility management. Modern technology, including satellite and aerial imagery, will be used to analyze crop composition and water requirements across larger areas with improved accuracy. These tools, integrated with artificial intelligence and machine learning, will enable better data analysis and efficient monitoring of water resources.
The ministry has also set a goal for digital transformation across its departments to enhance overall efficiency, improve water distribution, and address workforce shortages through the use of advanced technology. The ministry is implementing a data-driven approach to improve decision-making in areas such as waterway encroachment management, purification efforts, and shoreline monitoring.
In addition, a new governance system is being developed to clarify institutional roles, reduce centralized decision-making, and strengthen regulatory frameworks. Databases for facilities, purification works, equipment, and vehicles are already complete, and ongoing work aims to digitize records in various departments, including human resources, financial dues, irrigation properties, and licenses.
