Mohamed Salah Ranks 11th in Ballon d'Or 2023
The ranking marks the first time Mohamed Salah has fallen outside the top 10 since his Ballon d'Or debut in 2018.
Egyptian football star Mohamed Salah claimed the 11th spot in the 2023 Ballon d'Or rankings, marking the first time he's fallen outside the top 10 since his Ballon d'Or debut in 2018. Salah, now 31 years old, previously secured sixth place in 2018 and reached fifth place twice in 2019 and 2022, as well as seventh place in 2021.
Salah's lower rank this year can be attributed to Liverpool's relatively underwhelming performance in the 2022/2023 season, as the club finished in fifth place in the Premier League, narrowly missing out on securing a coveted Champions League spot.
Lionel Messi, the Argentine captain, clinched his eighth Ballon d'Or title after securing the highest number of votes.
