New Orascom-Built Souvenir Kiosks Will Open at the Pyramids Plateau
The kiosks form part of ongoing development works to regulate vending at the Giza Pyramids Plateau.
New souvenir kiosks have been handed over at the Giza Pyramids visitor area as part of the ongoing development works on the plateau.
The handover took place during an inspection by Giza Governor Ahmed Al Ansari, marking his first visit to the project since assuming office, alongside the Chairman of Orascom.
Orascom Pyramids said it completed the design and implementation of the kiosks in line with the archaeological character of the site, coordinating operating mechanisms with the Giza Governorate.
The kiosks fall under a development protocol between Orascom Pyramids for Projects and the Supreme Council of Antiquities concerning the organisation of the visitor area.
Under the approved operating system, each kiosk carries an annual lease of EGP 6,000 per vendor, in addition to an EGP 10,000 insurance payment.
A posted regulation inside the site governs sales activity, with the Tourism and Antiquities Police assigned to monitor compliance in coordination with the Giza Governorate and Orascom Pyramids.
According to the company and the governorate, the initiative is intended to organise commercial activity within the plateau, support existing vendors, preserve the stability of their livelihoods, and provide skills development aligned with the updated visitor area format.
