New School Year Scheduled to Start on September 21st
The Ministry of Education and Technical Education has finalized the schedule for the upcoming school year.
The Ministry of Education and Technical Education announced on Saturday that the upcoming 2024/2025 school year will begin on September 21st, 2024 and end on June 5th, 2025.
The first semester will run from September 21st, 2024 to January 23rd, 2025, with exams starting on January 11th, 2025. The mid-year break, scheduled from January 25th to February 6th, 2025, will be followed by the second semester, which will begin on February 8th, 2025.
Final exams for all educational stages, including preparatory certificate exams, are scheduled to begin on May 24th, 2025, with technical diploma exams starting on May 31st, 2025 and Thanaweya Amma exams on June 14th, 2025.
These dates will apply to all stages of education in public, language, and private schools.
The announcement was made following a meeting of the Supreme Council for Pre-University Education, chaired by Education Minister Mohammed Abdel-Latif. In addition to setting the schedule for the 2024/25 academic year, the council approved the ministry's strategy to restructure secondary education and address issues such as overcrowding, student absenteeism and teacher shortages.
