Nile Corniche in Aswan Transformed Into Ahl Masr Walkway
The development features a glass promenade on the third level, offering visitors a walk above the Nile river.
The Nile Corniche in Aswan, a key destination for tourists visiting southern Egypt, has undergone its first major redevelopment in six decades. The state-led project aims to transform the Corniche into ‘Mamsha Ahl Misr’ (Egypt’s Walkway), enhancing its appeal with modern amenities and infrastructure.
The project focuses on the central area opposite Plaza Durra Al-Nil Park, which now includes 56 new facilities such as shops, cafés, bazaars and a high-end tourist restaurant. These additions are supported by comprehensive fire safety systems, public restrooms and elevators.
Accessibility improvements have been implemented to meet Egyptian code standards for people with disabilities. The development also includes a glass promenade on the third level, allowing visitors to walk directly above the Nile river and enjoy panoramic views.
