Orascom Pyramids & Brooke Hospital Partner to Enhance Animal Welfare

Orascom Pyramids announced a partnership with The Brooke Hospital for Animals Egypt, one of the world’s leading animal welfare organisations, to improve the health and working conditions of animals across the Giza Plateau.

The agreement, developed in coordination with the Supreme Council of Antiquities and the Directorate of Veterinary Medicine in Giza, introduces a comprehensive programme focused on veterinary care, regular checkups, vaccinations, and preventive treatment for the site’s working animals.

“We are working to change negative perceptions regarding the treatment of animals, and we are pleased to collaborate with licensed NGOs to achieve this humanitarian goal and enhance Egypt’s civilised image,” says Dr. Hamed Al-Aqnas, Head of the General Organisation for Veterinary Services.

“Our goal is to improve the health and welfare of working animals and raise awareness among their owners about best care and handling practices. Together, we strive to enhance the overall quality of the tourist experience at the Pyramids of Giza and to make the site a model for implementing animal welfare principles,” explains Eng. Sherif Foda, Chairman of The Brooke Hospital for Animals.

The initiative also includes training and awareness sessions for animal owners and handlers, alongside the installation of designated water stations throughout the archaeological zone.
