Over 122 Million Visited the Two Holy Mosques Throughout Ramadan

More than 122 million worshippers visited the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah during the month of Ramadan, according to Eng. Ghazi Al-Shahrani, CEO of the General Authority for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque. The figure significantly exceeds the typical annual average for visitors to the sites, highlighting a historic surge in attendance during the holy month.

Of the total, 16.5 million performed Umrah outside of the Hajj period. The Grand Mosque in Makkah received 92.1 million worshippers, while the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah saw 30.1 million visitors.

The Grand Mosque in Makkah typically receives about 20 million visitors annually outside the month of Ramadan, making this year’s Ramadan turnout particularly notable.
