Over 800 Saudi Companies Invest USD 34 Billion in Egypt

Over 800 Saudi companies have invested approximately USD 34 billion in Egypt, according to Egypt’s Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk. The announcement was made during the Egyptian Saudi Business Council Forum, highlighting the growing scale of bilateral investment between the two countries.

Saudi Arabia is currently Egypt’s third largest trading partner while Egypt ranks seventh in trade volume with the Kingdom. In 2023, trade between the two nations reached nearly USD 13 billion, with Egyptian exports accounting for USD 5.3 billion and imports from Saudi Arabia valued at USD 7.5 billion.

The minister also pointed to Saudi investments in Egypt’s agricultural sector, where over 13 major Saudi companies are operating in areas including livestock production, dairy, poultry, feed manufacturing and veterinary medicine. Saudi Arabia remains one of the largest Arab importers of Egyptian agricultural goods.
