The strategy includes constructing more than 10,000 new hotel rooms in the Pyramids area as part of a wider programme to expand accommodation capacity in major archaeological zones and enhance visitor services.
Work underway in Islamic and Historic Cairo was noted as a core pillar of the plan, aiming to increase the cultural and tourism value of the city’s heritage districts. Restoration efforts will continue with an emphasis on protecting original architectural character, ensuring that historic sites maintain their integrity even as surrounding infrastructure develops.
