Ramadan Tent Project Hosts Iftar at the UK’s Most Iconic Landmarks
Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and the V&A Museum are just some of the spots where people of all faiths are welcomed for iftar.
‘Open Iftar’ is a series of events taking place in the UK, organised by the Ramadan Tent Project to welcome the public to join Muslims in breaking their fast together. This year, the Ramadan Tent Project is celebrating its 10th anniversary and has expanded to include more venues than ever before at iconic landmarks across the UK, including the British Library, Victoria & Albert Museum, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, Wembley Stadium, the Royal Albert Hall, and King’s College Cambridge.
The theme for this year's events is ‘Belonging’, reflecting the initiative's goal of bridging different communities through authentic cultural expression. The public program features the diverse arts, culture, and heritage of Islam and is open to people of all faith backgrounds. Since its inception in 2013, the initiative has brought together over half a million people and has played a vital role in supporting community cohesion in various locations such as Trafalgar Square, the BALTIC Museum, Bradford’s Centenary Square, and Coventry Cathedral.
