Rare Planetary Alignment Lights UAE Skies Until Early February
Dubai Astronomy Group hosts an event in Al-Qudra desert to allow astronomy enthusiasts to observe rare planetary alignment.
Jupiter, Saturn, Venus and Mars have gathered closely together in a small section of the sky above the UAE, producing a rare astronomical event known as a planetary alignment. This alignment can be seen by the naked eye in the UAE until the beginning of February.
Providing astronomy enthusiasts and the general public the opportunity to enjoy this rare spectacle, Dubai Astronomy Group is hosting a sold-out event in Al-Qudra desert on January 25th, where 800 people will be able to observe the stars.
The event will include an informative Q&A and sky-mapping session to promote an understanding of the constellations in the sky and will also offer opportunities for telescope use.
In light of the popularity of the event, Dubai Astronomy Group will hold another gathering in Al-Qudra on February 1st, offering the public one last opportunity to experience this rare sight.
