Revenues From Egyptian Nature Reserves Surged 40% in 2024
The increase was detailed in the Ministry of Environments 2024 achievements reports on the development of the environmental sector.
Revenues from Egypt’s nature reserves grew by 40% in 2024 compared to 2023 and surged by over 1900% compared to 2017-2018, according to Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad.
The increase was detailed in the Ministry of Environment’s 2024 achievements report, which highlighted efforts to boost investments in the environmental sector. These efforts included improving services at nature reserves to enhance visitor experiences while preserving their natural, cultural, and environmental heritage.
The report also underscored Egypt’s commitment to environmental protection and biodiversity conservation. Key achievements in 2024 included ecosystem preservation, infrastructure development in reserves, biodiversity conservation, support for local communities, protection of endangered species, and stricter enforcement of environmental laws.
These initiatives are part of Egypt’s broader strategy to achieve a sustainable and green transition, Fouad noted.
