The new zone will focus on producing active ingredients, medical devices and vaccines, building on the success of current projects like Ateco Pharma and Gennvax Egypt.
The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) is set to establish a pharmaceutical industrial hub, spanning 4 million square metres, with an emphasis on localising pharmaceutical production and both domestic and international investment.
Announced by SCZone's Head Waleid Gamal El-Dien at the PharmaReg AfriSummit, the zone aims to drive innovation and increase self-sufficiency in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
The new zone will focus on producing active ingredients, medical devices and vaccines, building on the success of current projects like Ateco Pharma and Gennvax Egypt. This initiative aligns with Egypt’s broader goals of expanding industrial capacity and attracting foreign investors through strategic development in high-demand sectors.
