Saudi Arabia Wins Six Medals at International Mathematical Olympiad

During the 65th International Mathematical Olympiad at the University of Bath in the UK, the Saudi Arabian team won six medals, including one silver medal, four bronze medals and one certificate of appreciation. This raised the number of total awards won by the Kingdom in the Olympiad to 77, including 12 silver medals, 46 bronze medals, and 19 certificates of appreciation.

The competition involved teams of up to six participants who tackled three intricate problems in two separate exams lasting 4.5 hours each over two consecutive days.

The awards were won by Hadi Al-Aithan, from Al-Ahsa education department, Youssef Bakheet from Yanbu, Mohammed Rabie from Madinah, Muath Al-Qahtani and Mohammad Al-Ghamdi from the Eastern Province, and Ahmed Al-Shehri from Riyadh. The team was allocated through Mawhiba, the foundation for giftedness and creativity, as well as the Kingdom’s Ministry of Education.
