Saudi Arabia has granted a six-month residency permit to Gazans who’ve been stranded in Mecca while performing pilgrimage.
Every year, thousands of Palestinians make the pilgrimage to Mecca. For the last five months, Israel’s bombardment of the Gaza Strip has left hundreds stranded in Saudi Arabia.
With their travel documents expired and their homes under siege, those who had been participating in Umrah at the beginning of the war have been trapped in limbo.
