These sites were registered in compliance with the Antiquities, Museums, and Urban Heritage Law.
The Saudi Heritage Commission has registered 3,202 new sites in the National Urban Heritage Register, raising the total number of registered sites to 28,202.
These sites were registered under the Antiquities, Museums, and Urban Heritage Law, a framework that facilitates the systematic documentation and preservation of Saudi Arabia's archaeological and cultural landmarks. Backed by the Commission's Board of Directors, this decision empowers the CEO to take necessary actions to protect the country’s most valuable heritage sites.
In addition to this, the Heritage Commission has called on citizens and residents to play an active role in preserving the nation’s history by reporting unregistered heritage sites. Contributions can be made through the Balagh platform, official social media channels, or the regional offices located across the Kingdom.
