Saudi Heritage Project to Restore Al-Qibli Mosque in Riyadh
The project will preserve the heritage of the 17th-century mosque - one of the oldest in the region - and add modern features.

The historic Al-Qibli Mosque in Riyadh’s Manfuhah district is being restored as part of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Project for the Development of Historical Mosques.
Built in 1689, the mosque is one of the oldest in the region. The restoration aims to preserve the mosque’s traditional Najdi architectural style, which uses clay and natural materials, while upgrading its facilities. Once completed, it will cover 804 square metres and accommodate 440 worshippers. This restoration highlights Saudi Arabia’s commitment to preserving its cultural and religious heritage.
