Saudi Luxury Train 'Dream of the Desert' Now Open for 2026 Bookings
The 14-carriage, 33-suite train blends heritage-inspired design and high-end hospitality across five planned itineraries.
Saudi Arabia’s ultra-luxury train service, Dream of the Desert, has opened bookings for its 2026 season, offering a trip that combines heritage-inspired design, high-end hospitality, and sweeping desert and heritage-site itineraries.
The train — built with 14 carriages and 33 luxury cabins to accommodate up to 66 passengers at a time — features interiors designed by architect Aline Asmar d’Amman, whose work draws on Saudi craftsmanship, equestrian heritage and regional aesthetics to create a refined environment aboard rails. Guests on board will enjoy 24-hour butler service, on-suite dining and curated live performances during the journey.
Pricing starts at SAR 30,000 per cabin per night, with a fully refundable deposit of SAR 2,500 required to reserve a suite. The operators have announced five itineraries — from multi-day heritage and desert exploration routes to shorter overnight or weekend trips — designed to showcase Saudi Arabia’s cultural and natural landscapes.
Among the routes is “The Northern Sands,” which includes a journey from Riyadh into the northern deserts and heritage sites like Marid Castle and the rock-carved formations of Jubbah; and “A Taste of AlUla,” a desert-to-heritage expedition ending in the famed rock-city and valley landscapes of AlUla.
Backed by the partnership of the national rail operator, luxury design firm Arsenale Group and the Saudi tourism authorities, Dream of the Desert is positioned as a flagship project under the country’s broader tourism expansion push.
