Saudi's Jameel Motors to Distribute Chinese Cars in South Africa
The distributor will introduce electric and fuel-powered Changan models to South Africa’s growing auto market by late 2025.

Saudi-based Jameel Motors is entering the South African automotive market for the first time through a new distribution agreement with China’s Changan Automobile, one of the world’s largest car manufacturers. The partnership will bring a variety of Changan’s fuel-powered and electric vehicles to South Africa, targeting consumers looking for affordable and technology-focused options.
Jameel Motors plans to introduce models such as the Deepal S07 electric SUV, the CS75 Pro SUV, the Alsvin sedan, and the Hunter pickup truck. The first showroom and service centres are expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2025.
The move comes as South Africa, the largest automotive market in sub-Saharan Africa, recorded more than 500,000 new vehicle sales in 2024 alone. Rising demand for competitively priced and tech-equipped cars has already drawn several Chinese manufacturers to the region, including Chery, BYD, and BAIC.
