Sharjah Forms High Level Committee for Warehouse Safety
The initiative targets violations in commercial and industrial warehouses.
A high-level committee has been formed in Sharjah to monitor compliance and address violations in commercial and industrial warehouses, with its first coordination meeting held to align inspection and enforcement efforts. The initiative follows directives from the Sharjah Executive Council and is aimed at strengthening oversight, improving coordination between authorities and reinforcing safety standards across the sector.
The committee is chaired by Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, with the meeting held at the police’s General Headquarters. Discussions focused on enhancing field readiness, streamlining procedures and unifying roles in joint inspection plans, alongside addressing unsafe or non-compliant practices that could pose risks to lives and property.
Officials said the move forms part of ongoing efforts to ensure full compliance with safety regulations across key commercial and industrial facilities. The committee includes representatives from multiple entities, including the Department of Economic Development, Sharjah Civil Defence, Sharjah Municipality and the Sharjah Electricity Water and Gas Authority, among others. Its mandate covers monitoring compliance, conducting joint field inspections and removing violations where identified.
