Subsidised Bread Will Be Sold To Non-Ration Card Holders in 2024
Starting January, subsidised bread will be available to non-ration card holders.
The Ministry of Supply & Internal Trading has announced plans to provide subsidised bread to citizens not enrolled in the ration card programme starting in January 2024.
Through this initiative, individuals will be able to purchase bread loaves for 1 Egyptian pound each from government-run bakeries across the country.
Abdullah Ghorab, head of the bakeries division at the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, revealed that all 30,000 government-run bakeries will participate in the programme. Prepaid cards can be obtained through the Egyptian postal service to facilitate the purchase of the subsidised bread. Additionally, there will be no restriction on the quantity of bread that can be purchased per person.
