To be part of the Learning Cities Network, cities must adhere to specific criteria, including creating a safe and healthy environment, promoting lifelong learning through activities, fostering policy dialogue and cooperation among member cities, and contributing to capacity building and the development of effective learning strategies.
In total, Egypt now boasts seven cities within the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities, namely Giza, Aswan, Damietta, Fayoum, Sharkia, Zefta, and Alexandria.
