Three Saudi Students Secure Medals at International Astronomy Olympiad

Three Saudi high school students returned from Vassouras, Brazil this week with bronze medals in the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics.

Over 250 students from 53 countries gathered in Vassouras over 10 days to participate in the 17th edition of the olympiad, which seeks to foster interest and investment in astronomy and astrophysics amongst the youth.

The Saudi Education Ministry collaborated with the Saudi Communications, Space and Technology Commission to prepare the students. The winning students have been named as Joud Basim Al-Lahyani, Hussein Hassan Al-Mubarak and Fajr Hassan Al-Ubaidan.
