Thursday July 11th Declared Official Holiday for Islamic New Year

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has declared Thursday, July 11th, 2024, an official holiday to celebrate Islamic New Year. The date replaces the corresponding Gregorian calendar date of the first day of Muharram 1446 AH, as determined by the lunar sighting. The holiday applies to employees in ministries, government departments, public authorities, local administration units, public sector companies, public enterprise sector companies, and private sector companies.
