UAE Cabinet Approves Official Stance on Artificial Intelligence Use

The UAE Cabinet, chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has approved the country’s official stance on artificial intelligence (AI) policy.

This initiative, developed by the Office of the Assistant Foreign Minister for Advanced Science and Technology, as well as the Office of the Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, is part of the UAE's broader foreign policy framework aimed at addressing the complexities of AI on a global scale.

The policy outlines six core principles: Advancement, Cooperation, Community, Ethics, Sustainability and Security. It reflects the UAE’s dedication to ensuring that AI development aligns with ethical, social, and environmental priorities..

Key aspects of the policy include participation in international AI forums, advocating for transparency and accountability in AI tools, and supporting global alliances for effective governance of AI systems. The UAE aims to ensure that AI technologies contribute positively to society while addressing potential risks and challenges on an international level.
