US National Basketball Team Visits Abu Dhabi for Exhibition Games
The basketball team played exhibition games against Australia and Serbia, and made time to enjoy their time in Abu Dhabi.
The United States men’s basketball team has arrived in Abu Dhabi, including star players like LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Durant, Anthony Davis, Anthony Edwards, and recent NBA champions Jayson Tatum and Jrue Holiday.
The celebrity players were greeted by the chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism, Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, who greeted them and wished them luck for this upcoming season.
Many of the players have visited the Emirates before, and Abu Dhabi in particular has become a vibrant hub for basketball in the region. Anthony Edwards was reported to have enjoyed the beach, while Stephen Curry, Devin Booker and Jayson Tatum enjoyed some gold at Yas Links.
Their exhibition games at the Etihad Arena against Australia and Serbia on July 15th and 17th were part of the road to a possible 17th Olympic gold medal for the American team.
These games in the capital come after their recent victory over Canada in Las Vegas, USA. They’re flying to London next for additional friendly games against South Sudan and Germany.
