Uber's Self-Driving Cars are Rolling Out Across Saudi Arabia

Uber is gearing up to introduce self-driving vehicles in Saudi Arabia through a new partnership with Abdul Latif Jameel, in a move that brings electric and autonomous mobility closer to the streets of the Kingdom. The initiative—set to create around 30,000 jobs—supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 push to modernise transportation and diversify the economy.

Despite the focus on automation, plans are in place to open up job opportunities in vehicle upkeep, charging logistics, remote fleet operations, and cleaning services, all essential for keeping autonomous cars on the road.

The rollout builds on Uber’s collaborations with 18 autonomous vehicle tech partners and follows similar discussions in the UAE as the region accelerates toward smarter mobility solutions.
