Umrah Travellers Required to Vaccinate Against Meningitis
To streamline the process, appointments can be booked through the Sehhaty app.

The Ministry of Health has made the meningitis vaccine mandatory for all Umrah pilgrims travelling into Saudi Arabia in 2025, as part of a broader initiative to implement preventive health measures and limit the spread of infectious diseases.
Pilgrims are required to get vaccinated at least 10 days before travel to allow enough time for immunity to develop. The ministry clarified that those vaccinated within the past five years do not need a booster dose, as the vaccine remains effective during this period.
To streamline the process, appointments can be booked through the Sehhaty app, with vaccinations available at adult vaccination clinics across the country.
