You Will Soon Be Able to Pre-Pay Your Bus Transportation Fees in Egypt

Cairo’s Public Transportation Authority has initiated a prepayment project for public bus tickets, which will be applied across 1,800 buses from the authority’s fleet.

The initiative is part of the authority’s efforts to further digitise and automate their ticketing and subscription system. The authority is implementing an electronic ticketing system to enhance the level of service provided to citizens and optimise the Public Transportation Authority resources.

The buses themselves will also be converted to operate on natural gas and electricity instead of diesel, in order to make public transportation more environmentally friendly.
