Summer may be coming to an end but it seems racket season’s just getting started. Alexandria’s Central Administration of Tourism and Resorts has revealed plans to allocate a special beach for a sport once famed for its widespread enjoyment across the Mediterranean city.
Racket enthusiasts will be able to play bat and ball over some newly established nets on the beach of Ishaq Helmy in Sidi Bishr soon with the construction of ‘Tahouna Court’ (Mill Court). The court’s location was chosen due to the expanded sandy area of the beach. Its construction marks the beginning of a series of designated areas for beach sports on Alexandrian beaches. The distinguished beach will have a ticket price of EGP 15 and will include access to a parasol, a chair and the use of toilet and locker facilities.
