New York City Is Getting Its Very Own Etihad Park
Part of a 23-acre redevelopment, the project includes 2,500 affordable homes, a public school, and lush green spaces.
Etihad Airways is bringing a slice of Abu Dhabi to New York City with the announcement of Etihad Park, the future home of New York City FC. Located in Queens’ Willets Point, the 25,000-seat stadium will open ahead of the 2027 Major League Soccer season as the first all-electric sports venue in New York.
This landmark project is part of a 23-acre redevelopment plan that includes 2,500 affordable homes, a public school, and green open spaces, blending sustainability with community development.
Etihad Airways, the official sponsor, extends its decade-long partnership with NYCFC through this 20-year naming deal. Beyond just a name, Etihad has already contributed significantly to New York’s soccer culture, funding 50 mini-pitches across the city through its ‘City in the Community’ initiative, with 26 more planned ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Etihad Park promises to be more than a sporting venue, hosting concerts, festivals, and community activities to connect and inspire New Yorkers.
