Egypt Rebuilt & Renovated 13,610 Mosques Since 2014
The Ministry of Awqaf has opened 121 mosques since July 2025 across new, rebuilt, and renovated sites.
Egypt’s Ministry of Awqaf announced that the total number of mosques rebuilt, renovated, or furnished since July 2014 has reached 13,610, with an estimated total cost of EGP 23.5 billion. On Friday, the ministry inaugurated 21 mosques across several governorates, including 13 newly built or rebuilt mosques and eight that were renovated. Since the beginning of July 2025, a total of 121 mosques have been opened, comprising 97 new or rebuilt mosques and 24 upgraded ones. The ministry stated that the openings reflect its ongoing efforts to modernise and expand places of worship across the country, in coordination with Egypt’s wider development plans.
