Shams to Celebrate Debut Album with Cairo Launch Party June 16th
Hosted at RAAD Records' basement venue, the event will also feature sets from Egyptian producers Riff and Mahib Sleat.
Syrian singer-songwriter Shams is set to celebrate the release of her debut album, Qalb Plastic, with an intimate launch party at RAAD Records’ basement venue in Cairo on June 16th.
Produced entirely by Cairo-based musician Kubbara, Qalb Plastic began as a sample-driven exploration of the sounds that shaped Shams’ musical upbringing. Across the album, those influences are refracted through an off-kilter pop lens, resulting in a body of work that feels both nostalgic and deeply personal. Moving between themes of love, vulnerability and emotional turbulence, the record captures an artist in the midst of discovering her signature sound.
The evening will see Shams performing live the full tracklist of Qalb Plastic for the first time, joined by Egyptian rapper-producer Mahib Sleat and Egyptian producer Riff, who will handle the opening and closing duties, respectively.
