UAE Higher Education Award Nominations Open Until September 30th
The inaugural award recognises institutions, academics, students and partners across higher education and scientific research.
Nominations for the inaugural UAE Award in Higher Education are open until September 30th, 2026, recognising institutions, individuals and partners across higher education, technical and vocational training, and scientific research.
The award is held under the patronage of Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Chairman of the Education, Human Development and Community Development Council.
Higher education institutions, technical and vocational education and training institutions, and their staff are eligible to participate. Nominations opened in June, with applications to be assessed in October and winners announced in December.
The award is divided into four main categories: Leadership, Readiness, Pioneers and National Impact. Subcategories cover areas including institutional excellence, innovation, future readiness, scientific research, academic and student achievement, entrepreneurship and strategic partnerships.
Leadership focuses on institutions demonstrating strong performance and sustainable impact, while Readiness recognises projects designed to improve future preparedness and long-term development. Pioneers covers academic staff, students, entrepreneurs and the institutions supporting them, while National Impact recognises leaders, partners and international universities contributing to higher education in the UAE.
Winners will receive financial and honorary incentives. Applicants can review the evaluation criteria, participation requirements and category-specific forms through the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s website.
