Mahool Records Releases Melodic Techno & House VA Album ‘Portal 001’
The sublabel of Saudi’s MDLBEAST Records highlights rising talents from across the MENA region on its inaugural VA compilation.
Mahool Records, a sublabel of Saudi’s MDLBEAST Records, dropped the first volume of its VA compilations series ‘Portal’. Titled ‘Portal 001’, the six-track record is a saucy selection of techno and melodic house sounds highlighting rising talents from across the MENA region.
Egyptian DJ and producer Sokkary kicks off the compilation with ‘Falling Deep’, an uplifting club-driven house tune, featuring arpeggiated melodies, driving synths and soulful harmonies that pulse through dramatic drops.
Meanwhile, ‘Break A Way’ by Cairo’s producer Auf and Fade Republic, is on the darker side of techno, featuring ambient pads and heavy rolling basslines with extended reverbs and delays, creating somewhat of a futuristic dystopian dreamscape.
The album also features contributions from Qatar’s Deus Deserto on ‘Like That’, and Madhaus’ very own Moses with ‘Kerosene’.
