XP Conversations - Reina Khoury - On Finding Her Love For The Stage

Along her career, Jordanian artist Reina Khoury has been bridging the gap between Arabic and western pop, by incorporating the musical elements from each genre that speak to her personally. Reina’s powerful voice and keen melodic ear have helped her amass a loyal audience, which has been growing ever since her early days performing covers and mashups of hit songs on YouTube.

In this XP conversation, Reina opens up about shifting towards original music in the last few years, and how it has taken her on a journey of self reflection to hone in on the exact sound she wishes to create. She also gives insight into how covering songs has enabled her to better understand her own singing style and musical preferences, and talks about her experience opening for Cairokee in 2023’s ‘Cairokee Empire’ concert, where she performed to a massive audience of 25,000 people.
