Dubai Airports Launches Initiatives to Enhance Travel Inclusivity
These initiatives include connecting travellers with hearing disabilities to sign language specialists, and hosting free events.
Dubai Airports has announced the launch of several initiatives aimed at ensuring that Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport cater to both visible and hidden disabilities.
Some of the key initiatives include connecting travellers with hearing disabilities to sign language specialists through the Sanad Relay Center, an online portal that helps translate into sign language, offering the Sanad Smart Card, meant to introduce people of determination, and joining the The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower, a globally-acknowledged discreet lanyard that indicates that the wearer has a hidden disability and may need additional support from staff, who will undergo extensive training.
Additionally, there will be a calendar of free events at both airports, aimed at promoting inclusivity in travel.
