As part of an extensive USD 7 million beautification and greening project, Dubai has unveiled two giant ‘Welcome to Dubai’ signs (one in Arabic, the other in English) greeting passengers descending into nearby Dubai International Airport.
Covering an area of more than 360,000 square meters, the green space features decorative elements such as colored gravel, innovative lighting, and 50,000 plants and shrubs of various species, with sustainable, water-efficient irrigation systems.
Many other similar projects are on the horizon, as the city doubles down on its ongoing efforts to establish itself as a unique global tourist destination.
