Egypt’s Borg El Arab Airport to Open Eco-Friendly Passenger Terminal
Currently undergoing trial operations, the terminal will enhance the airport’s capacity from 1.2 million to 6 million passengers annually.
Egypt is getting its first ever eco-friendly terminal this November. Spanning 40,000 square meters, the terminal is set to open at Alexandria’s Borg El Arab International Airport and is currently undergoing trial operations.
Developed in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the terminal is designed to significantly enhance the airport’s capacity from 1.2 million to 6 million passengers annually, marking a significant step in the Aviation Ministry’s ongoing efforts to make Egypt’s airports eco-friendly in line with government sustainability targets.
