This Global Community is Taking Female Photographers to Egypt

This September, global photography community ‘In Flow Retreats’ is bringing together female photographers from all around the world for a creative, reflective, and productive trip to the Land of the Pharaohs.

Founded by two women united in their passion for photography, sisterhood, and nature, ‘In Flow’ adopts a three-pronged approach to travel – working on the mind and spirit through yoga practices and breathwork classes, fostering bonds between like-minded women by hosting sisterhood rituals in ancient locations worldwide, and, lastly, ensuring that all the camera-wielding women on their retreat return home with stellar portfolios by connecting them with camera-ready agency models, in-demand brands, and local production teams, allowing the creativity to, well, (in) flow.

And now, across the span of a week – from September 8th to the 16th – ‘In Flow’ is bringing its triadically transformative trips to Egypt’s Dahshur and Siwa Oasis.

The journey is set to begin in Ardi Dahshur, a popular space for retreats engulfed in nature and silence, just south of Cairo. There, the group will experience candle-lit evenings, a disconnection from technology, visits to historical sites in and around Cairo, and various rituals in historical temples. At Ardi Dahshur, the first ceremony of the trip will take place – a cacao and womb activation ritual from heart to heart.

After four days in Cairo, the tribe will head west towards the Siwa Oasis, where they will stay in the famed and electricity-free Adrère Amellal eco-lodge. While there, the group will venture outside the eco-lodge for photographic explorations of the rest of the Oasis before returning to Cairo.
