63,000 Tonnes of Wheat Has Been Imported From France
The Egyptian government has reportedly conserved enough wheat for domestic consumption to sustain the country until at least the end of 2022.
Wheat imports to Egypt continue to diversify as the Ministry of Supply receives 63,000 tonnes of wheat from France. The shipment was thoroughly scanned to ensure that it’s free from insects and other infestations.
Previously, Egypt was one of the largest importers of wheat from both Ukraine and Russia. With the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine however Egypt has been hugely impacted, and has been looking for alternative sources of wheat to feed its population in addition to countries like India.
