Egyptian Airports to Be Managed & Operated by Private Sector Soon
The proposed move is part of a nationwide vision to localize the transportation industry in Egypt.
Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, announced that the government intends to partner with the private sector in the transportation sector, specifically the management and operation of Egyptian airports.
The announcement came during a roundtable chaired by Madbouly on Sunday, bringing together representatives from more than 20 major global companies specialized in the fields of transportation, logistics, and maritime navigation, on the sidelines of the International Exhibition and Conference for Smart Transportation, Infrastructure, and Logistics for the Middle East and Africa. Madbouly stated, "We are confident that the private sector is better suited to manage and operate various projects and facilities, whether they are seaports or dry ports."
The proposed move is part of a nationwide vision to localize the transportation industry in Egypt, with measures taken by the government to encourage global companies to establish transportation enterprises within the country. These include a new package of investment incentives, such as tax exemptions to encourage companies to invest more in Egypt.
