Egyptian Brother-Sister Duo Set World Record With Largest LEGO Glasses
Hailing from Mansoura, the siblings set a Guinness World Record by creating the largest pair of LEGO eyeglasses in the world.
You can make anything you want out of LEGO, and these two Egyptians decided to create a new world record. Zeyad Ibrahim - a 19-year-old Egyptian who is legally blind - has set a Guinness World Record by creating the largest pair of LEGO eyeglasses in the world with the help of his 17-year-old sister, Salma Ibrahim.
Hailing from Mansoura and doing their LEGO-work out of The Galleria Al Maryah Island in Abu Dhabi, the siblings spent 56 hours across 17 days assembling the eyeglasses, using 65,108 LEGO bricks in the process! At 6.2m x 2.52m x 0.952m, the glasses are roughly the weight of an adult panda bear, and are every eccentric interior designer’s dream.
According to Zeyad, LEGO is his way of visualising his surroundings. The shape of the bricks and how they come together helps him make sense of the world around him, which is exactly what his creation symbolises.
