Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria, head of the Coptic Orthodox Church, has inaugurated the St Mary & St Bishoy Church in New Cairo's Fifth Settlement. The inauguration ceremony was attended by several priests and bishops from the Coptic Orthodox Church.
First built in 2007, the St Mary & St Bishoy Church had its main church inaugurated by the pontiff in 2016, which made it the first Christian place of worship in the district.
